BisonNet Outage May 16 & May 17, 2023

BisonNet services will be unavailable beginning on May 16, 2023 at 7am until May 17, 2023 at 10pm. Please note that all BisonNet jobs will be terminated during this outage. Also, as part of this outage, we’ll be upgrading the environment to a newer version of Linux. If you have installed/compiled any programs in your account, you may have to rebuild/reinstall those programs following the outage. If you have any questions, please email bisonnet@bucknell.edu.

BisonNet Outage on August 9, 2022

The BisonNet environment will be unavailable from 8am-4pm on August 9, 2022. During this time, we’ll be replacing our storage system with new hardware and software. There are a couple of changes that we’d like to make you aware of as part of this change: This new storage system will restore the ability for people to map/mount a drive on your Windows/Mac/Linux system. Following the outage, new instructions will be available here: https://bisonnet.bucknell.edu/transferring-sharing-data/mapping-a-drive-to-or-mounting-your-hpc-storage/ Following this change, we will have the ability to set quotas on the amount of storage people use. 2021-02-09 BisonNet Update

We have continued to work with our storage vendor to improve both the performance and stability of the new BisonNet storage software. We have received a number of fixes from our vendor and feel we have made significant progress over the past month. There are still some remaining issues that we’re working to correct, and we have a new update we’re preparing to install. We plan to install the update on Saturday, Feb. 13th, from 9am-noon.
