BisonNet services will be unavailable beginning on May 20, 2025 at 7am until May 21, 2025 at 10pm. Please note that all BisonNet jobs will be terminated during this outage. As part of this outage, we’ll be upgrading the environment to a newer version of Linux. If you have installed/compiled any programs in your account, you may have to rebuild/reinstall those programs following the outage.
Two additional notes:
- Following the outage, the SSH host key for bisonnet-hpc.bucknell.edu will have changed. The next time you ssh to bisonnet-hpc, you will likely receive an error that the bisonnet-hpc host key has changed, along with information about removing the old host key from your local known_hosts file. Please review and follow those instructions. Most likely you’ll need to run:
ssh-keygen -R bisonnet-hpc
AND/OR
ssh-keygen -R bisonnet-hpc.bucknell.edu
Once you’ve removed the old key, you should be able to connect and save the new one. - Most of the software packages that are used on BisonNet will be upgraded/reinstalled for the new Linux version so paths and module names may change. Please let us know if something is not working as it did in the past.
